Christina Whalen, PhD, BCBA

Dr. Whalen is an entrepreneur and education leader with more than 25 years experience in research, clinical practice, curriculum and instructional design, product development, and training educators, behavior analysts, psychologists, administrators, families, and students. She has developed and supervised home programs, educated and trained parents and teachers, consulted with school districts, taught college and graduate courses in psychology and education, presented at numerous conferences, participated in fund-raising activities for various autism organizations, and has published in several peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Whalen is the Editor and author of the book Real Life, Real Progress and has worked on numerous technology-based solutions for children including programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and behavior management. She was one of the original founders of TeachTown and has worked as an innovator of new solutions for various companies including West Health, Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), RethinkEd, and Elevo Learning.

As passionate as she is about her career, Christina also gives 100% of herself to her family, friends, and community. She is an avid reader and loves organizing creative activities for her book loving friends. The theatre is her happiest place where she can be seen in the audience, on stage, writing scripts, backstage, or in the directors seat. Christina is a proud Mom of a 21 year old musical theatre major at the University of Michigan. She hopes to see her son shine on Broadway one day soon!

Christina also loves to go on walks near the beach where she lives in La Jolla, CA. She loves to travel and explore new cities and places. Vintage and thrift stores are her favorite and she is a music lover who collects records and frequently attends live shows around town. Her other creative passion is cooking. Trying new recipes and cooking for her friends or making them fun cards is her love language.
